Sound: Brooding contemplations on the war in Iraq and war in general. Pointed melodies and beautifully haunted harmonies unsettlingly glide over ominously spare arrangements and a variety of rhythmic elements including military marching, digital pulsing and spunky handclapping.

Recommended: Low’s been making music for over a decade and their decidedly slow and minimal music has rarely grabbed me. But the gripping and creepy observations on Drums and Guns grab my attention and the subtle but complex music keeps revealing new dimensions with each listen.
