SYNDICATE

I'mFromBarcelonaLetMeNote: Despite their name, this 29-member collective is from Jönköping, Sweden.
Sound: Peppy indie pop with childlike zeal and subject matter, including topics like hiding in your treehouse, getting the chicken pox and not wanting to grow up. I’m From Barcelona has some of that sunshiny, communal vibe of the Polyphonic Spree with horn blasts, harp flourishes and rousing choral parts. But they’re usually more playful and intimate with instruments like the banjo, kazoo, accordion and glockenspiel.
Heavy Rotation track: “Oversleeping”
Medium Rotation tracks: “We’re From Barcelona”; “Chicken Pox”; “Collection of Stamps”
Recommended: The barrage of childlike cheer can wear on you after awhile, especially since most songs don’t evolve past an idea or two. However, if you’re looking for a smile-inducing album that will remind you of simpler times, Let Me Introduce My Friends is guaranteed to put a spring in your step and a smile on your face.
