NorahJonesNotTooLateSound: Norah’s warm and inviting voice and an all-star cast of musicians soothingly guide you through piano ballads, acoustic guitar ditties, rootsy/breezy meditations and narcotic lullabies. They also make room for some darker moments: hedonistic, doomsday jazz and a biting, political waltz.
Heavy Rotation tracks: “Sinkin’ Soon”; “My Dear Country”
Medium Rotation tracks: “Wish I Could”; “Little Room”
Explicit Lyrics*: none
Recommended: There are top-notch performances and quality lyrics throughout Not Too Late, but at times the lighter, less dynamic tracks drift into background music. Thankfully Norah’s always good for a few edgy surprises and timeless pop hooks that stick with you long after the album’s over.

Downloading this one as we speak. Call me sappy, but I love Norah Jones. This should get me through deadline number two. That, and the promise of Tori going on tour soon!

There’s a chance we may not have the same favorites on this one. I definitely prefer the darker moments.

Where are you at on the new Luomo? Man, I had The Present Lover out last week and it was killing me. Easily one of the best of the 00s. Not as hot on the new one, but it has it’s moment. Finland is for real, yo.

  4. Dave Says:

I missed the new Luomo. I guess I’m not as up on the Finnish electronic stuff as I used to be.

  5. Ben Says:

I envy you! I wish I could get hot on The Present Lover for the first time again. Vocalcity too!

You can listen to Vladislav’s new steez on his site:

It’s not as hot as the oldies, but it’s still okay.
