SYNDICATE

TrucksTrucksSound: All-female quartet plays electro pop and indie punk that’s sassy and naughty, playful and clever.
Notable Noises: Lots of xylophone and some schoolgirl chants add to the lighthearted and juvenile nature.
Look For: Anyone who liked the folky indie rock of the mid 90s (think Lisa Loeb, Juliana Hatfield, Liz Phair and many more) must hear “Messages.” There’s nothing else like it on here, and it’s a smart, catchy pop song.
Heavy Rotation track: “Messages”
Medium Rotation tracks: “Titties”; “Shattered”; “Old Bikes,”
Explicit Lyrics*: “Titties,” “3AM,” “March 1st,” “Diddle Bot,” “Why The ?”
Recommended: If you like dirty, amusing and subversive girl power music, the first half of The Trucks should be quite enjoyable…especially for fans of Peaches and Le Tigre. Unfortunately, the second half devolves into far-less-interesting silliness.
Grade: B (1st Half = A-; 2nd Half = C)
