Sound: Swaggering, arena-sized Brit rock with the bravado of The Rolling Stones and Oasis, the stomping, electro pulse of the Chemical Brothers and occasionally the orchestrated glam of T. Rex. Tracks build and swell into psychedelic, freak-out jams or hammer home revolutionary statements of purpose.
Heavy Rotation tracks: “Empire”; “Shoot the Runner”
Medium Rotation tracks: “Me Plus One”; “Sun/Rise/Light/Flies”
Recommended: Kasabian strive for massive pomp and power on Empire, and they nearly achieve brilliance. Too often, though, they slip into a pounding groove or hypnotic hook and stick with it longer than they should…unless they were on stage. To truly appreciate their music, you have to seem them live. Just ask their rabid fanbase. I’ve only seen performance footage of them myself, but that alone blows away their studio recordings.
