TedLeoPharmTed Leo and the Pharmacists will release their fifth full-length album, Living With the Living, on March 20th. According to their new label, Touch and Go Records, Ted will be pushing his soulful falsetto in new directions and The Pharmacists will be injecting more funk and r&b into their punk/ska sound and DIY ethos. The recordings were produced by Fugazi drummer Brendan Canty, who also produced the band’s 2001 album, The Tyranny of Distance.

All of these elements sound like a good recipe for success. If this new one’s half as good as the excellent Hearts of Oak, my #9 album of 2003, we’re in for a treat. You can sample one of the new tracks right here (a promising indicator of good things to come):
