GoodBadQueenHerculeanThe Good, The Bad and The Queen will release their self-titled debut album in the U.S. on January 23, 2007. The project features Damon Albarn (Blur frontman/Gorillaz mastermind), Paul Simonon (bassist of The Clash), Simon Tong (guitarist of The Verve) and Tony Allen (Afrobeat drumming pioneer).

According to Damon, the songs are mostly written about West London and why “it’s such a special place to live.” Musically, expect a wide variety of sounds including: English music hall, Afrobeat, reggae, dub, British punk and Brit pop.

It sounds like it will be just as eclectic and adventurous as the Gorillaz albums, but less electronic and hip hop. Hopefully it’s better than the last Blur album, Think Tank. “Out of Time” was a great track and single, but I couldn’t behind much more on there.

The first single from The Good, The Bad and The Queen has been released. It’s called “Herculean,” and you can stream it here.

Plus, the final tracklisting has been revealed:

1. History Song
2. 80s Life
3. Northern Whale
4. Kingdom of Doom
5. Herculean
6. Behind the Sun
7. The Bunting Song
8. Nature Springs
9. A Soldier’s Tale
10. Three Changes
11. Green Fields
12. The Good, The Bad & The Queen
