Sound: Sweet, sometimes whimsical indie pop with an electro lounge-like flavor, immaculate, rich production and an avant-garde edge. The most dependable sounds are Galia Durant’s nasal, sexy vocals and the deep arsenal of warm synths and organs. They also work in bouncy strings, choppy guitars, squeaking horns, chiming xylophone and all sorts of bubbling, popping, clinking and shaking noises.
Heavy Rotation tracks: “I Want That”; “Mister Ant”; “Parker”; “Part Like Waves”
Medium Rotation tracks: “The Monster Song”; “Marshrat”
Recommended: Psapp’s music has always captured the imagination with its hypnotizing rhythms and dense layers of sound, but they’ve stepped everything up a notch on The Camel’s Back. It’s their strongest, most complete album to date.
