Sound: Electro, glammy, punky, groovy indie rock led by Alison Mosshart’s sexy and playful vocals. This arty duo has added more life and color to the minimalist sound from their first two albums. Though it’s mostly romping, strutting, chic party music, they do slow it down for a couple of quality mellow moments.
Heavy Rotation track: “U.R.A. Fever”
Medium Rotation tracks: “Tape Song”; “Black Balloon”; “Goodnight Bad Morning”; “Last Day of Magic”
Recommended: The Kills keep getting more interesting and creative with age. Midnight Boom is a touch more exciting and accomplished than 2005’s No Wow, which was considerably more focused and memorable than their 2003 debut Keep on Your Mean Side.
