Sound: A mix of folky pop, light rock and a little psychedelia with delicate melodies, attention-grabbing falsetto and lyrics that are odd enough to offset the music’s wussier tendencies.

Recommended: Don’t be fooled by the relatively rockin’ first track, Dropping the Writ is a pretty and polished album. It should appeal to fans of artists like Crowded House, Elliott Smith and Simon and Garfunkel.
