Recommended: David’s a strong songwriter and Simple Love has some great lines and a couple memorable hooks. However, the highlights are scattered and more prevalent in the latter half of the album. He’s a promising talent, but if you compare his work to his label boss’ (they do have relatively comparable styles), it reconfirms just how supremely talented Conor Oberst (aka Bright Eyes) is.
