Sound: A spirited mix of poppy punk and rootsy rock with a hardcore edge. Chris Farren’s vocals can roar with a throat-shredding ferocity on par with Against Me!’s Tom Gabel and Two Gallants’ Adam Stephens, while the band throws fiddle, horns, piano, slide guitar and more into the bouncy and aggressive hoedown.
Heavy Rotation tracks: “Born and Raised”; “To Repel Ghosts”
Medium Rotation tracks: “Crest On the Chest”; “Life’s A Drink, Get Thirsty!”
Recommended: Fake Problems’ unlikely genre-blending and raw charisma showcases a band brimming with potential. There are definitely some quality highlights on How Far Our Bodies Go, but they’ve left room for improvement on the next full length.
