Sound: Raw rock with a spooky, decadent vibe. Guitars feverishly slash, march and spike, while drums bash and piano pops in for some doomsday melodies.
Heavy Rotation track: “Let’s Stay In”
Medium Rotation tracks: “Broken Hands”; “Papa’s Got a Brand New Liver”
Explicit Lyrics*: none
Recommended: If you like punchy, scrappy and sometimes danceable rock with a powerful vocal presence. Bright Light Fever is a rush when the music’s playing, but the songs are a bit indistinguishable. Few will stick in your head when the music stops.
Grade: B
* Noting of explicit lyrics is for the benefit of radio music directors or anyone else that needs/wants to keep their music FCC-friendly.
