Sound: The gentle, piano/organ rock with sweeping, delicate falsetto is reminiscent of Coldplay and Keane, but they usually add a progressive, creepy, guitar-riffing edge that puts them in a category with Jeff Buckley, Radiohead and even The Mars Volta.
Heavy Rotation tracks: “Stab City”; “Song for Luna”
Medium Rotation tracks: “Milk and Honey”; “Be Here Now”; “Ghosts of York”
Explicit Lyrics*: none
Recommended: Despite some of the comparisons they elicit, As Tall As Lions are quite difficult to pin down. Their dark, elegant and passionate music earns them the right to be talked about as a unique, up-and-coming band.
Grade: B+
