Sound: Classic-sounding (but modern) rock that draws from the simple and satisfying elements of The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin and many of their 60s and 70s contemporaries.

Recommended: If you like the idea of combining Jack White’s howlin’ rock, Brendan Benson’s quirky pop and both of their knacks for writing a catchy tune. It’s a quick and fun listen from start to finish, but there’s little exceptional or must-hear material.
Grade: B+ (Slight chance of making my Top 20 Albums of 2006)
