SYNDICATE

Note: They’re a Montreal band produced by Isaac Brock of Modest Mouseicon
Sound: Ragged indie rock with jerky and coarse vocals (that can fall somewhere in between Frank Black, David Byrne and Isaac Brock), rudimentary percussion and a whirlwind of synths and organs creating moods including psychotic, spooky and whimsical
Heavy Rotation track: You Are A Runner and I Am My Father’s Sonicon
Medium Rotation tracks:I’ll Believe In Anythingicon“; “Shine a Lighticon“; “It’s a Curseicon“; “Grounds for Divorceicon
Recommended: To those who like their lo-fi rock loose but pulsing and don’t mind if promising hooks get buried in distortion and intentional underproduction.
Grade: B-
