Sound: Jittery and jangly pop/rock defined by Steve Bays’ spastic vocal wailings and an array of organ and synth sounds; slicker, safer and sunnier than their debut Make Up the Breakdown
Heavy Rotation tracks: “You Owe Me an IOU“; “Ladies and Gentlemen
“
Medium Rotation tracks: “Shame On You“; “Pickin’ It Up
“
Listen when: You need to hear something fun and toe-tapping
Recommended: If you can warm up to the polarizing vocals (which sound a little out of place with their newly conservative sound), their crafty and catchy melodies will keep you coming back for at least half of the songs.
Grade: C+
