Tim Kasher is best known as the frontman of Saddle Creek band Cursive, who put out my #11 Album of 2006, Happy Hollow. He’s a busy guy, though, and has another band, The Good Life. They’ve released three albums of their own, and the most recent one, Album of the Year, yielded my #20 Song of 2004, the title track. Both the song and the album followed a pretty detailed and direct linear storyline. According to Saddle Creek Records, The Good Life’s next release, Help Wanted Nights (out September 11th) is less narrative-based and instead captures “moments of raw emotion.” The songs on the record were originally intended to be the soundtrack to a screenplay Kasher started writing in 2006 (which he’s since completed), but ended up as the next proper The Good Life release.
