On July 10th, Spoon will release their sixth album Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga. The title was inspired by the staccato piano sound pulsing on track 2 “The Ghost of You Lingers.” Of course, bouncy staccato sounds are a trademark of Spoon recordings and there are plenty of them to be found on this latest collaboration between the band and Mike McCarthy (producer of all of their albums this decade).

Mike manned the audio board for all but one of the ten tracks on Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga. The sole other producer involved was Jon Brion, the man known best for his richly layered productions with Fiona Apple, Aimee Mann and Kanye West.
