A month ago, I wrote about one of the most promising and strongest new voices in music, Nicole Atkins. She’s a first-class singer/songwriter that writes elegant pop/rock tunes with a dark, haunting side and lots of piano.
She’s signed to Columbia Records and her debut EP Bleeding Diamonds came out last October. Now, a release date has been set for her debut LP. Neptune City will surface on June 26th and here’s a brand new song from the upcoming album:
It’s a grand, beautiful heartbeaker. Also, here’s an MP3 of the creepy, carnival-esque “Carouselle,” from the EP. Hopefully she includes this on the album, it would be nice for a wider audience to hear this one:
