Keeley Davis was the frontman of Engine Down and the bass/synth player of Denali, two defunct Richmond, Virginia bands. After their breakups, he went on to fill the guitarist vacancy in Sparta (when founding guitarist and former At the Drive-In member Paul Hinojos left the band to reunite with his old ATDI bandmates in The Mars Volta).
Now Keeley’s ready with yet another project, Glos. The band features his former Engine Down bandmate Cornbread Compton and his sister and former Denali bandmate Maura Davis. They’ll release their debut album Harmonium on March 27th.
From what I’ve heard so far, they make dark, tense, challenging and wickedly beautiful music. Here’s a sample:
