The greatest lyricist of the decade is ready to bless us with another album. Conor Oberst (aka Bright Eyes) will release Cassadaga on April 10th. This time around the Bright Eyes lineup consists of core members Mike Mogis, Nate Walcott (along with Conor) and will feature guest performances from M. Ward, Gillian Welch, Janet Weiss (Sleater-Kinney, Quasi, The Jicks) and David Rawlings. According to Saddle Creek Records, the album has a “wandering country charm” and is “quietly enchanting.” Sounds like it could be similar to the excellent, I’m Wide Awake, It’s Morning (my #2 album of 2005).
“Four Winds,” Cassadaga’s first single will be released on March 6th and include five exclusive b-sides. You can download one of them right here, “Tourist Trap,” a song that could have fit nicely on I’m Wide Awake…
