MTV.com reported today that Buckcherry’s song “Crazy Bitch” has reached #3 on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock singles chart and #59 on the Hot 100. Why is this shocking news? Because the song is filthy dirty. It’s a highly explicit, sleazy, porn anthem that the band says was inspired by the Paris Hilton sex tape. Basically it’s so raw and catchy, it’s a wonder that Guns N Roses didn’t think of it in the 80s. When I first heard the track back in April (when Buckcherry released their third album 15), I thought it was the standout track of the album and offensively hilarious at the same time. I wished for them that they could have made it just a little cleaner, because they had a hit on their hands.
The song did become a hit at satellite and Internet radio (where explicit lyrics aren’t an issue), but I wasn’t aware they did a radio edit for the song. Since I no longer listen to mainstream rock radio, I’ve never heard the clean version. I can’t find it anywhere online. Apparently it’s called “Crazy,” and I can only imagine that the song takes on entirely different meaning in its edited form. I suspect it’s quite disappointing, actually. Does anyone know where to hear it on the Internet?
If you’ve never heard the dirty version of “Crazy Bitch,” you can click here. But again, I must warn you, it’s offensive.
