Sondre Lerche Phantom Punch (Astralwerks)

Norwegian artist Sondre Lerche has been known for subtle, calm tracks, but this third album is powerful, loud, and full of rowdy rock and roll spirit. The instrumentation is a brash and almost over-the-top in some songs (“Phantom Punch,” “The Tape”), but in others (“Airport Taxi Reception”) he returns to his simpler roots. And Sondre has no problem moving through all the different styles in his album seamlessly. Versatile, fun, and full of beautiful sounds both quiet and loud, Phantom Punch is an album everyone can enjoy.
