The Mountain Goats Get Lonely (4AD/ADA)
Did your girlfriend/boyfriend just leave you for some douche/bitch? Is Bonaventure giving you the blues? Well it’s time to Get Lonely with John Darnielle. The Mountain Goats is Darnielle’s project and Get Lonely is his 14th album. This is one hell of a feat considering the first album came out in 1991. So after releasing the last album The Sunset Tree about his life growing up, he’s gone more personal on Get Lonely. This is a very depressing album lyrically but is contrasted by the beauty of the soft lo-fi instruments. Darnielle’s vocals sooth you as you feel his pain. He sings as the everyday man he is. This is American life, American misery and American Love. Fans of Bright Eyes, Iron and Wine and a less full sounding R.E.M. will be right at home in Darnielle’s lonely world.

10. If You See Light (if you see light)
